A 2023 F-350 front bumper is not one part. The same year range comes chrome, painted or primed, with or without parking-sensor holes, with fog lights or with empty fog-light openings, and on some trucks it sits in front of an adaptive-cruise radar. Order the wrong combination and the bumper may bolt on but leave you with open holes, missing lights or a sensor warning on the dash.
This guide walks through the details that decide whether a Ford Super Duty front bumper is the right one for your truck, using the way our own listings describe each bumper. If you are not sure which generation you have, start with our Ford Super Duty generation guide, then come back here.
Start With the Year Range
Front bumpers are listed by the model-year range they were built for. For the years this guide covers, you will see three ranges:
- 2017–2019 — the first years of the aluminum-body Super Duty.
- 2020–2022 — the refreshed front end of the same generation.
- 2023–2026 — the current generation, which is where most of the bumpers we list come from.
Treat each range as its own part. A bumper listed for 2020–2022 should not be assumed to fit a 2023 truck, or the other way round, because the front-end styling, mounting and sensor layout changed with the generation. If your truck’s model year sits right at the edge of a range, or the truck was built late in one model year, send us the VIN before you order.
F-250 / F-350 vs F-450 / F-550
Our listings name the models each bumper is for. For 2023–2026 you will see F-250/F-350 bumpers and F-450/F-550 bumpers listed separately. Do not assume the two interchange: buy the bumper that names your model, and if your truck is a less common configuration, confirm it with us before ordering.
Parking Sensors: Holes vs Sensors
This is the detail that causes the most confusion. Many Super Duty trucks have front parking sensors, small round sensors that sit in holes across the face of the bumper. A bumper can come in one of two ways:
- With parking-sensor holes — the openings are cut into the bumper so your truck’s sensors can be moved over.
- Without parking-sensor holes — a smooth face, made for trucks that never had front sensors.
A sensor hole does not mean a sensor is included. The listing tells you whether the bumper has the holes. Unless it clearly says the sensors are included, plan on moving your truck’s own sensors over. If your truck has front sensors, you need a bumper with the holes; if it does not, a bumper with holes will leave visible openings.
Look at your current bumper: if you see a row of small round sensors across the front, you need the sensor-hole version. Some older listings use the phrase “with sensors”. If the “Parking Sensor Holes” line in the specifications and the photos do not make it clear what you are getting, ask us before you order.
Sensor Harness: Usually Not Included
The sensors connect through a wiring harness that runs behind the bumper. When a bumper is removed from a truck, that harness often stays with the truck. Where we have checked it, the listing shows a “Sensor Harness” line, for example “Not included”. Plan to transfer your truck’s harness, or source one separately, if the listing does not say it is included.

Fog Lights: Included, Openings Only, or None
Fog lights work the same way as sensors: the bumper may have the openings without the lights in them. Our listings use three descriptions:
| Listing says | What you get |
|---|---|
| Included | The fog-light assemblies are in the bumper. |
| Openings only (fog lights not included) | The bumper has the fog-light cutouts, but the lights are not included. Transfer your own or buy them separately. |
| No fog-light openings | A bumper made for trucks without fog lights. Fog lights cannot be fitted without different parts. |
If your truck has fog lights and you want to keep them, choose “Included” or “Openings only”. If it never had them, a bumper with openings will need the lights or covers to look finished. The switch and wiring are on the truck side, so fog lights in a new bumper may not work on a truck that was not built with them.
Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Radar
Some Super Duty trucks are built with adaptive cruise control and other driver-assist features that use a forward-facing radar. Where that radar sits, and whether a given bumper is made for a radar-equipped truck, depends on the exact build. We do not list adaptive-cruise fitment for bumpers unless we have verified it, and we do not guess.
If your truck has adaptive cruise control, contact us with your VIN to verify adaptive-cruise configuration before ordering. Also be aware that radar and camera systems may need to be checked or recalibrated after front-end work, which is a job for your installer or dealer. Texas Truck Parts does not offer installation or calibration.
Chrome, Painted or Primed
- Chrome — common on work and mid trims. Check the photos closely for pitting or scratches in the plating, which cannot be touched up like paint.
- Painted — body-color bumpers removed from trucks in a factory color such as Agate Black, Oxford White or Carbonized Grey. Match the paint code on your door-jamb sticker; our paint code reference explains how to find it.
- Primed (ready for paint) — a bare primed bumper that needs to be painted before it is installed. The primed 2023–2026 bumpers we list have no fog-light openings, so check that matches your truck.

Condition: What the Photos Are For
Take-off bumpers come off other trucks, so expect normal handling and storage wear. Each listing shows its own photos of the bumper you are buying, and our condition notes call out things like scuffs, paint chips, paint protection film or plastic trim pieces that were removed. Read those notes together with the specification table. Plastic trim, brackets and grille parts are not always included, so check the photos for the pieces you need.
OEM Take-Off or Aftermarket?
A factory take-off bumper keeps the original look and the factory provisions for sensors and fog lights, as long as you choose the right version. An aftermarket replacement bumper, such as a heavy-duty steel or winch-ready style, changes the look and may handle sensors, fog lights and driver-assist hardware differently, so check each aftermarket listing for what it supports. Our OEM vs aftermarket front bumper guide covers the trade-offs, and you can browse aftermarket Ford front bumpers separately.
When to Send Your VIN
Send us your VIN, or a clear photo of your current bumper, when:
- your truck has adaptive cruise control or other driver-assist features;
- you are not sure whether your truck has front parking sensors;
- your model year is at the edge of a range;
- your truck has a trim or package with a unique front end; or
- you are matching a painted bumper and are not sure of the paint code.
Quick Checklist Before You Order
- The year range on the listing includes your truck’s model year.
- The listing names your model (F-250/F-350 or F-450/F-550).
- Parking-sensor holes match your truck: holes if you have front sensors, none if you do not.
- You have a plan for the sensor harness if the listing says it is not included.
- Fog lights match: included, openings only, or none.
- The finish suits you: chrome, painted in your paint code, or primed for paint.
- If you have adaptive cruise control, you have confirmed the configuration with us using your VIN.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a bumper with sensor holes come with the sensors?
Only if the listing says so. “Sensor holes” means the openings are cut for sensors. Check the specifications and photos; in most cases you move the sensors over from your truck, and the harness is listed separately as included or not included.
Can I put a bumper with fog-light openings on a truck without fog lights?
It will leave empty openings unless you add lights or covers, and a truck that was not built with fog lights may not have the wiring or switch for them. A bumper listed with “No fog-light openings” is the simpler match.
Will a 2020–2022 bumper fit a 2023 Super Duty?
Do not assume it will. 2023 started a new generation, and we list bumpers by the range they were built for. Order the range that includes your model year.
My truck has adaptive cruise. Which bumper do I need?
Contact us with your VIN to verify adaptive-cruise configuration before ordering. We will not guess on driver-assist fitment.
Do you install bumpers?
No. Texas Truck Parts & Accessories sells parts only and does not offer installation. Your mechanic or body shop can fit the bumper and check any sensors afterward.
